The Mobile Legal Clinic is a legal office “on wheels”, which travels to your community, to offer you information and legal counselling, to support the rights of children and adults with intellectual disabilities or mental health problem who live either in institutions or in families.

Who can receive our services?

People with intellectual disabilities or mental health problems or their families. As well, people with disabilities who live in residential centres, in orphanages, special schools or psychiatric hospitals.

Is there a fee?

There is NO fee for the information or the legal counselling offered by the clinic’s experts.

How can you access the Mobile Legal Clinic?

The clinic will travel to various cities in Romania, which will be announced in advance, in a visit calendar which will be posted on our website, on the page Schedule of visits. We recommend, for an easier access, to make appointments, either via email (cjm@crj.ro) or by calling us from Monday to Friday, between 9 am and 5 pm, on our phone number 021.212.06.90.

The clinic’s experts can offer counselling on:

  • Legal counselling, representation in court of people with intellectual disabilities or mental health problems, including those who live in residential centres, in psychiatric hospitals, orphanages or special schools.
  • Access to life in community: requests for protected houses, integrated services or home services.
  • Medical services: access to general or specialised medical services.
  • Procedure of unwilling hospital admission.
  • Placement under guardianship, curatorship.
  • Social services.
  • Access to integrated psycho-medical-educational services for children with intellectual disabilities or mental health problems.
  • Work laws: discrimination at the work place of people with disabilities, problems in finding a work place.
  • Issues regarding obtaining a social house by a person with intellectual disabilities or mental health problems.

… noticed a person with mental disabilities being abused, brutalised or harassed.
